Dr. Arnaud Martel is a specialist in oculoplastics, a field focused on the treatment of diseases affecting the eyelids, orbit, and lacrimal pathways. He manages and operates on patients with intraocular tumors (primarily uveal melanoma), eyelid tumor, orbital tumors, and tumors of the ocular adnexa (lacrimal gland, nasolacrimal duct). His surgical procedures include both tumor excision and reconstructive surgery, for example following surgery or radiotherapy.

Short Bio

After six years of medical studies at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis (renamed Université Côte d’Azur in January 2020), Arnaud Martel chose ophthalmology as his specialty at the Nice University Hospital following the National Ranking Examination. Early in his residency, he developed a particular interest in diseases of the eyelids, orbit, and lacrimal pathways, working alongside Drs. Lagier and Delas. As the Nice University Hospital is a national and international reference center in ocular oncology, he naturally became involved in the management of ocular and periocular tumors. Today, as an Associate Professor – Hospital Practitioner, he treats patients with tumors of the eyelids, orbit, and lacrimal pathways.

In addition to his clinical and surgical work at the University Hospital of Nice, he teaches at Université Côte d’Azur and conducted research in ocular oncology at the Laboratory of Clinical and Experimental Pathology (LPCE) as part of his doctoral thesis in science.
